Jo George
Chair of Governors
My name is Jo George and I have been a science teacher for sixteen years and a senior leader in schools for nine of those. My particular areas of interest are pastoral care, inclusion and safeguarding.
I am passionate that all children experience a sense of belonging whilst at school and that they are equipped to go on and lead happy and healthy lives as a result of an excellent education and a positive school experience.
I am delighted to be a governor at Hill View Academy and I am looking forward to working with staff, children, parents and carers.

Laura Greenhalgh
Parent Governor
Hello, my name is Laura Greenhalgh and I am a Parent Governor at Hill View Academy.
I have been a Primary School Teacher for 6 years, where I have taught in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. I am currently teaching Year 1 and I really enjoy it, especially the singing and signing. I have learnt a lot of Makaton whilst teaching, I really enjoy communicating with signs.
I am very interested in Space and enjoy watching rocket launches and I love reading about the International Space Station, Mars and the Moon. At home, I have a sausage dog called Raphael and a 9 year old daughter who loves playing on her scooter in the skate park.

Lisa Lockwood
Staff Governor
I have worked in Almondbury for over 10 years and I absolutely love it! I am currently the Deputy Headteacher responsible for improving standards in teaching and learning across school as well as the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
I also teach Year 3&4 and love watching the children learn new things and grow in confidence.
I have two children, Mae and Alfie, so my spare time is filled with keeping them busy and having lots of fun outdoors!
I am enthusiastic about being part of the Governing Body and working alongside a great team who all work incredibly hard to continually improve our school.
