To apply for a place at our nursery, please complete the application form. When this is complete please hand to the school office. We will then get in contact with you and offers of a nursery place will always be made in writing.
If we are oversubscribed, we allocate children according to the following priorities:
1. Children under statutory assessment of their Education, Health and Care Needs or with an Education, Health and Care Plan (which names the school);
2. Children in Public Care (Children who are Looked After), including those who have been adopted or who are subject to a residence order, a special guardianship order; or a child arrangements order.
3. Children who have a sibling attending the school at the time of admission (Siblings are defined as children with brothers or sisters (including half/step-brothers or sisters) permanently resident in the same household, in attendance at the same school or a school on the same site, on the date of admission);
4. Other children.
If there is over subscription in any category, then children should be admitted in the order of proximity of the pupil’s permanent home to school. Distance should be calculated using a straight line measurement from the pupil’s home to the closest designated school gate. Distances should be calculated using the Local Authority’s GIS (Geographical Information System). No other method of measuring distance will be considered. Each property has a co-ordinate taken from Ordnance Survey ADDRESS-POINT data. This is the point from which distance measurements will be made. Parents/carers must inform the school immediately of any change of circumstances that may affect their application (for example, a change of address.)
Please note that attending our Nursery does not guarantee you a place in our school unless you have older children already attending Hill View Academy. Admissions to Primary School in the September following your child’s 4th birthday is governed by Kirklees Council and not school. You therefore need to apply for a place in Reception through the local authority. This is usually required by the January before your child starts in the September via https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-primary-school-place

Where places are available, children can attend a full day session from 8.50am until 3.20pm. Funded hours can be used for the morning session (8.50am-11.50am) and the afternoon session (12.20pm-3.20pm) and your child will be entitled to attend the Lunch Club (11.50am-12.20pm) free of charge.
Lunch Club 11.50am – 12.20pm
Lunch Club is open to any child in nursery should you wish to extend your child’s morning or afternoon session, places are limited, and priority is given to children attending a full day. We ask that you bring a healthy packed lunch for your child (no chocolate, sweets or fizzy drinks), we are also a “nut free” school.
Lunch Club cannot be part of your child’s funded hours and must be paid for. Additional sessions and costs If you would like to book extra sessions / days outside of your funded hours, we will charge £7.00 a session and £2.00 for Lunch Club. These will be allocated on a first come, first served basis and must be arranged in advance. One month’s notice will be required if parents wish to cancel additional paid for sessions.
If you would like to increase your sessions, this will be subject to availability of spaces and adequate staffing levels. Ad-hoc sessions may be available, please contact the school office for availability, these are payable at the time of booking. Parents will need to pay for those sessions not covered by the free nursery entitlement, monthly, in advance.
We will endeavour to meet your requirements but unfortunately, we are unable to make any guarantees at the time of application.
